Tumblr is a site used for blog publishing. It is the 10th largest site for social networking. People all over the world blog for several different reasons. They want to share what goes on in their life with friends and family, preserve memories, and just share their interests. You can blog about anything your heart desires. People update daily with personal stories, pictures they have taken or found online, and any interesting news they have come to hear. Blogging is a way to interact with people who share the same interests as you, or even far off relatives who want to know what you are up to. Those are considered personal blogs. Who created Tumblr?
David Karp founded Tumblr in 2007, with Marco Arment as a lead developer. Almost immediately, 75,000 bloggers switched to Tumblr, and since then, the site has gained 3 million users. In 2009, Jeff Rock and Garrett Ross created Tumblr for iPhone, and called it Tumblerette. In March, 2010, David Karp, the founder of tumblr, wrote a post saying that the site was averaging 2,000,000 posts and 15,000 new users every day.
