A Wordpress Info Page Needs a Wordy Title
In this gloriously fantastic web page, the almighty Wordpress is explained, (for the fifteenth or so time because everyone else did their project on Wordpress too)! *cue trumpets, a choir and a rockin' guitar solo*
Wordpress is an open source web publishing platform, often used as a CMS, (content management system). That means it can do exactly what it says it does; it manages content, more often than not like an online blog or a small business website. Wordpress uses the mySQL and php database combination, and comes complete with pre-set web templates, (called themes), that can be applied to a site, and can even be modified using HTML (5) and CSS (3) code so as to customize a site. Wordpress, like all other CMSs, has plenty of wonderful plug-ins that can make a website do practically anything you want it to. If you want your web site to dance like monkey for spare change, plug-ins can't do that, but they can optimize performance, (like the plugin Quick Cache), and analyze how busy your site is and where all that attention is coming from, (like the plugin GoStats), and way more than is possible to list!
